Pessoas Receita
A pessoa-receita adora fazer planos.
As mesas ficam impecávelmente niveladas.

#semvergonha
E vocês?
Let’s talk about two types of people. People-by-heart and people-recipe and let’s start by typifying their differences.
People-by-heart
People-by-heart are absolutely unable to follow a recipe, measure whatever it is or read and follow rules in general.
A person-by-heart is not deterred from making changes at home, putting on a carpenter’s work or trying out a new recipe for a kiwi cake. It does all of this and more, but it does not follow the rules. Instead, takes a glance at everything that is measured and does a very basic math on their little head to translate exact measurements to more-or-less a glass, plus-or-minus an hand-length or more-or-less to hip height
A person-by-heart, piously relies on the ability of their eye to achieve the right formula that will make a recipe or a project end up “almost” as it was supposed to. The person-by-heart would love to have the results of the person-recipe, without having to be a person-recipe.
Things that happen to the person-by-heart
Sometimes the cakes come out well, sometimes they do not bake in the middle, they are roasted in the bottom or they do not grow.
Sometimes the projects go well, other times the table is limping, the curtain is short or the table is crooked.
In fact, people-by-heart could be called people-sometimes. Because sometimes … it works.
Advantages of being a person-by-heart |
Disadvantages of being a person-by-heart |
✧ The freedom of not being attached to measures, rules or weights.
✧ Appreciating the surprise that they get when things go well.
✧ Gaining resistance to disappointment and failure.
✧ Develop a Macgyver property, and be capable of the most acrobatic solution, in the most varied situations. |
✧ Having less than good results, several times, as a result of ignoring measures.
✧ Having to deal with disappointment when things do not go well.
✧ The constant envy that the person-by-heart feels towards the person-recipe – because with them things always go well.
✧ The uncertainty of never knowing if this time things will go well or not. |
People-recipe
The people-recipe are exemplary perfectionists. They follow the measurements to the millimeter. With them, everything goes well at first try because they confirmed the numbers 4 times before moving on with the project.
A person-recipe makes everything perfect, with professional measures. And they do not even get involved in a project that has not been planned with detail and measures. The person-recipe loves making plans. Loooooves.
The outcome of their actions is always wonderfully predictable. It is a serene life. The person-recipe does not trust people-by-heart, nor does he trust his own look, but give him a measuring cup or a measuring tape and everything’s okay, we’re all friends again.
The people-recipe, despite the name, do not love to try recipes. They like to make and redo those recipes that have already been tested and known and the verb “to experience” already seems to them like something with little planning and measure.
Things that happen to the person-recipe
The cakes, the complicated dishes, the sour sauces … everything comes out as the recipe says. If it turned out different, the recipe was wrong.
If one ingredient is missing, it is not replaced by a similar one. No. It has to be that ingredient, with that color and that weight and from that origin, if not, you know, the recipe will be a disaster.
The tables they build turn out impeccably stable. And if they do not (probably because a person-by-heart got in the way), the person-recipe has the burning desire to undo it all and do it all over again. Until they get it all right, from beginning to end. Right measures!
Advantages of being a person-recipe |
Disadvantages of being a person-recipe |
✧ The serenity of always knowing the result.
✧ Being able to trust instructions and rules.
✧ Reduce the likelihood of errors considerably.
✧ Be able to gloat in front of people-by-hearts’s failures. |
✧ The lack of emotion associated with predictability.
✧ Having to deal with people-by-heart in your life.
✧ The irritability that grows when there are no measures to follow.
✧ Limited ability to bypass obstacles when something goes wrong, without having to design a new project or change recipe. |
Conclusions
The person-by-heart makes the plan already with one leg in its (probably unsuccessful) execution, the person-recipe plans several times, changes variables and measures and submits the request to the form for the project… before deciding to move forward.
If this typology seems to you * slightly * partial, it is because I am clearly a person-by-heart. #noshame
